Product Description

QUANTEC® PL-410A is a liquid accelerating and swipe-producing admixture for use in concrete masonry units, where zero or low slump concrete is required.

QUANTEC® PL-410A accelerates early strength development, shortens curing time, and allows units to be handled sooner, while it imparts a uniform swipe effect without significantly increasing unit weight. Production will increase with less chipping and fewer culls than are often seen when strengths are too low after curing.

Since it does not contain chloride, QUANTEC® PL-410A will not promote corrosion of pallets and other metal surfaces.

Product Function

In zero or low slump concrete mixtures, the non-chloride accelerating component in QUANTEC® PL-410A enhances cement hydration, producing higher early strengths and improved stability of the green concrete. In addition, QUANTEC® PL-410A produces a plasticizing effect that promotes quicker wetting and more complete dispersion of cementitious particles in the mix, allowing more complete hydration.

Fluctuations in water demand and the resultant variations in workability often experienced with low slump mixes are virtually eliminated. Also, by improving workability and increasing plasticity, low slump mixes produced with QUANTEC® PL-410A can be more efficiently and completely compacted. This improves the stability of the green concrete and produces a denser concrete structure with a less permeable surface.

QUANTEC® PL-410A is non-chloride and non-corrosive.

    Storage

    Protect QUANTEC® PL-410A from direct sunlight and freezing. QUANTEC® PL-410A has a shelf life of 9 months.

    Application Information

    Addition Rates

    The recommended addition rate of QUANTEC® PL-410A is 130- 325 mL/100 kg (2-5 fl oz/100 lbs) of cementitious material. However, prior testing is needed to establish the most effective dosage rate.

    Mixing Procedure

    The recommended point of admixture introduction will vary with equipment and mixing procedure; however, QUANTEC® PL-410A should not be dispensed onto dry cementitious materials. Your GCP representative will assist in determining the optimum point of admixture addition.

    The minimum temperature for application is 1°C (34 °F).

      Dispensing Equipment

      A complete line of admixture dispensing equipment is available.

      Packaging

      QUANTEC® PL -410A is available in drums, returnable totes and in bulk. Product weight is 1.01 kg/L (8.4 lbs/gal).

      Health & Safety

      All precautions defined on the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) for QUANTEC® PL-410A admixture must be followed.
