Product Description

OPTEC® EC-360 is a ready to use admixture, specially formulated for use in low slump concrete mixes.

OPTEC® EC-360 maintains color intensity, and is especially suitable for the production of manufactured concrete products such as block, segmental retaining wall units and pavers.

Product Function

OPTEC® EC-360 combines with the cement and chemically reacts, filling the pores of the concrete with a water insoluble solution. This produces a water-repelling effect by greatly reducing the absorption of the capillary pores.

Since OPTEC® EC-360 is distributed throughout the masonry unit or joint, the migration of water to the surface from within is also reduced. This aids in strength development as well as reducing the potential for efflorescence.

OPTEC® EC-360 also creates a plasticizing effect resulting in better compaction and denser structure with improved surface texture and appearance. OPTEC® EC-360 is non-chloride and non-corrosive.

Application Information

Addition Rates:

A dosage rate of 200-650 mL/100 kg (3-10 oz/100 lbs) of cementitious material may be used, depending on the specific set of materials and the desired end properties.

Mixing Procedure:

OPTEC® EC-360 should be added with the mixing water and thoroughly blended into the concrete mix.

The minimum temperature for application is 4.4 °C (40 °F).

Dispensing Equipment

A complete line of admixture dispensing equipment is available.

    Packaging

    OPTEC® EC-360 is available in drums, returnable totes and in bulk. Product weight is 1.02 kg/L (8.5 lbs/gal).

    Health & Safety

    All precautions defined on the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) for OPTEC® EC-360 admixture must be followed.

    Storage

    Protect OPTEC® EC-360 from direct sunlight and freezing. Freezing will render OPTEC® EC-360 unusable. The shelf life of OPTEC® EC-360 is 9 months.
