A replacement for welded wire mesh.

Welded wire mesh has long been used to reinforce slab-on-ground concrete, bridge decks and thin-walled precast applications for temperature and shrinkage crack control. Although mesh provides adequate performance, it adds many downsides. The mesh takes time to transport, install and correctly chair.

STRUX® products, such as STRUX® 90/40 synthetic macro-fibers, improves impact resistance, durability and long-term crack control properties of concrete by equally distributing structural fibers throughout the entire concrete matrix. There's no risk from corrosion, and none of the risk or job site obstruction inherent with the use of welded wire or mild steel reinforcement. STRUX® eliminates time and labor versus installing welded wire mesh (WWM). It eliminate the need to lift, carry, hoist, position, cut and tie awkward, heavy sheets or rolls of welded wire fabric (WWF) and thus helps to reduce construction time and labor cost for an estimated cost savings between 20-30%. Examples of applications where STRUX® can be used are slab on ground, precast element, elevated deck, tunnel liners  to replace non-structural steel.

STRUX® 75/32 Synthetic Macro Fibers
Description

STRUX® 75/32 fiber is a synthetic macro fiber complying with ASTM C1116/C1116M Type III, which can be used in ready-mixed concrete for different applications such slab-on-ground flooring, composite steel floor deck assemblies, topping slabs, thin-walled precast overlays and pavements.  Unlike traditional microfiber reinforcement, STRUX 75/32 macro fibers are specifically engineered to provide post-crack control performance.

Key Benefits
  • Can be used to completely or partially replace light rebar, welded wire reinforcement and steel fibers.
  • Easy to mix and fast to disperse.
  • Barely visible on the surface obtaining highly aesthetic concrete.
Application Type
STRUX® 85/50 Synthetic Macro-Fiber
Description

STRUX® 85/50 synthetic macro fibers are a unique form of high strength, high modulus synthetic macro reinforcement that is evenly distributed throughout the concrete matrix. It consists of synthetic macro fibers 50 mm (2 in.) in length with an aspect ratio of 85 that have specifically been designed to ensure ease of use and rapid dispersion in concrete. STRUX® 85/50 is used in concrete to improve the material properties including toughness (post crack energy absorption), impact and fatigue resistance, residual strength and durability.

Key Benefits
  • When added to shotcrete and concrete, the primary benefit of STRUX® 85/50 macro fiber is a significant improvement in flexural toughness.
Application Type
STRUX® 90/40 Synthetic Macro-fibers
Description

STRUX® 90/40 synthetic macro fibers are a unique form of high strength, high modulus synthetic reinforcement that is evenly distributed throughout the concrete matrix. The macro fibers add toughness, impact and fatigue resistance to concrete and improve residual strength and durability. Unlike traditional microfiber reinforcement, STRUX® 90/40 macro fibers are specifically engineered to provide post-crack control performance.

Key Benefits
  • Can be used to completely or partially replace light rebar, welded wire reinforcement and steel fibers.
  • Saves money through reduction or elimination of steel labor and material movement and storage costs, and fewer construction days.
  • Enhances jobsite safety by eliminating handling of steel fibers, welded wire reinforcement and rebar.
Application Type

STRUX® 90/40 macro fibers may be used in a variety of ready mix, precast and shotcrete applications including slab-on-ground flooring, overlays, pavements, bridge decks, composite steel floor deck assemblies, mass concrete, thin-walled precast elements (septic tanks, vaults, walls, etc.), tunnel linings, pool construction and slope stabilization.

STRUX® BT50 Synthetic Macro-Fiber

Overview

Shave off time from construction projects

In today's market, schedule is everything. Transporting, placing, and chairing welded wire mesh adds time to any project. STRUX® eliminates all that time—and its material characteristics make it as strong, if not stronger, than the alternative.

Add toughness to concrete with less material

STRUX® fibers add toughness, impact, and fatigue resistance to concrete. As opposed to microfiber reinforcement, STRUX® macro fibers add post-crack control performance. STRUX® allows users to save on material by decreasing thickness of slab on grade or overlays. For designers, this increases the range of possible forms. For contractors, this means less material overall may be needed. STRUX® reduces the time required for the critical path resulting in faster construction times and earlier delivery of the building for the contractor.
